A prosthesis or a brace is a mechanical device worn every day under body weight. Parts wear, bolts loosen, liners perish, straps stretch and sockets stop fitting as the limb changes. Limbgenixx repairs, services, adjusts and replaces prosthetic and orthotic devices at our centre in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh — including devices originally supplied elsewhere.
Most people wait too long. A limb that has developed a click, a wobble or a rub is telling you something, and the repair is almost always smaller and cheaper than the consequences of ignoring it — a fall, a pressure sore, or a component failure that damages the parts around it.
Come In Promptly If You Notice
- Any new noise — clicking, grinding, squeaking or knocking from a joint or a connection
- Looseness or play at the knee, ankle or any adapter, or a limb that feels like it twists underfoot
- Slipping or pistoning — the limb moving up and down on the residual limb as you walk
- Skin trouble — redness that does not fade, blistering, or breakdown in the same spot
- A change in how you walk, including new limping, instability, or the knee buckling
- Visible damage — cracks in the socket or frame, split liners, frayed straps, worn foot shells
- A brace that no longer holds the joint where it used to
Stop using the device and contact us immediately if a structural part is cracked, a knee gives way unexpectedly, or a weight-bearing component is visibly damaged. Do not keep walking on a limb you suspect is failing.
What We Repair and Service
Socket Work
Adjustment for volume change, local relief over pressure points, reline, repair of cracks where the structure allows it, lock and valve replacement, and socket replacement where adjustment is no longer enough.
Component Replacement
Feet, knee units, pylons, adapters, bolts, sleeves, valves and lock mechanisms. Replacement is matched to the existing build and to your activity level — see components.
Realignment
Static and dynamic realignment when the way you walk has changed, after a component change, or after weight change. Poor alignment is a frequent cause of back, hip and sound-side knee pain.
Orthosis Repair
Joint servicing, strap and padding replacement, re-riveting, shoe attachment work and refits for KAFOs, polio calipers, AFOs and spinal braces.
Consumables
Replacement liners, stump socks, sleeves and sheaths. If we already hold your measurements, these can often be arranged without a full visit.
Children's Devices

Devices Made Elsewhere
We regularly see devices that were made somewhere else. That is not a problem in itself, but there are limits worth knowing before you travel:
- Some proprietary components need parts that are specific to that manufacturer or system, and availability varies. We will tell you honestly if a part cannot be sourced.
- Microprocessor and electronic knees generally require servicing through the manufacturer's own channel. We can advise, but we will not open a unit we are not the right people to service.
- A device that is structurally unsound is sometimes not worth repairing, and we will say so rather than take money for a repair that will not hold.
Send photographs first. Clear pictures of the whole device, the damaged area and any visible labels or part numbers let us tell you whether the repair is feasible, before you spend money travelling. Message them on WhatsApp.
If You Are Travelling From Another State
Most repairs need the device physically with us, and many need you present too, because the fit has to be checked after the work is done. Before you travel, message us photographs and tell us what the device is doing. We will tell you what the likely job is, roughly how long it should take, and whether it is worth the trip.

Preventive Servicing
A periodic check — fasteners, joint play, foot and liner condition, socket fit, alignment and gait — catches the small problems while they are still small. Daily care between checks is covered in prosthetic leg maintenance.

Yes, we regularly do. The limits are practical rather than a matter of policy: some proprietary systems need manufacturer-specific parts that may not be available, and microprocessor knees normally have to be serviced through the manufacturer's own channel. Send us photographs first and we will tell you whether the repair is feasible before you travel.
New noises, looseness or play at a joint, the limb slipping or pistoning as you walk, persistent redness or skin breakdown in the same place, a change in the way you walk, or any visible crack or damage. Any of those is a reason to have it checked.
No. A new noise or new play usually means a fastener has loosened or a component is wearing, and both get worse under daily load. Stop using the device and contact us straight away if a structural part is cracked, a weight-bearing component is damaged, or a knee has given way unexpectedly.
It depends where the crack is and what the socket is made of. Some cracks can be repaired safely; a crack through a load-bearing area usually means the socket should be replaced. We need to see it to judge, and we will tell you if a repair would not hold rather than carry it out.
The device has to be with us, and for most jobs you should be too, because the fit and alignment need checking once the work is done. Consumables such as liners and stump socks can often be supplied without a full visit if we already have your measurements.
It depends entirely on the job and on whether the parts are in stock. A strap, sock or simple adjustment is usually quick; a socket remake or a component that has to be ordered takes longer. Message us photographs and we will give you a realistic estimate for your own case before you travel.
