A ready-made support in the correct size is usually enough for mild to moderate problems, short recovery periods and limbs of fairly typical shape. A custom-made device is worth the difference where there is deformity, a structural condition, spasticity, reduced sensation such as a diabetic foot, or where it will be worn daily for years. Limbgenixx advises patients on the right brand for each clinical situation.

For mild knee pain a ready-made elastic support or hinged brace is often sufficient and costs very little. For post-surgical knees, ligament injuries or moderate-to-severe osteoarthritis, a fitted or custom brace provides meaningfully better control, and the difference in outcome usually justifies the difference in price. We will tell you which category your knee falls into rather than selling you up.

Limbgenixx, Gwalior, fits Ottobock and Össur components for patients across India, and supplies ready-made orthopedic supports and braces. We also assist with ALIMCO scheme applications.

ALIMCO scheme provides prosthetics using domestic components manufactured at ALIMCO's Kanpur plant. These are standardized, basic devices. Imported components such as Ottobock or Össur are not provided under the ALIMCO scheme — those are available privately at Limbgenixx for patients who need the additional function.
