If you are in Ujjain and need an artificial limb, a caliper, a brace or diabetic footwear, the practical question is not really where — it is how many trips you will need and what can be settled before the first one. This page answers that.
More than people expect. Send us photographs on WhatsApp and describe the problem, and we can usually tell you:
There is no charge for that conversation, and it is the single best way to avoid a wasted journey.
We would rather be straight about this than have you arrive expecting a finished limb the same day.
In person: assessment, casting or scanning, test fitting, final fitting and alignment. A socket is made to the shape of your own limb — it cannot be fitted remotely.
Not in person: the initial conversation, and ready-made items such as knee sleeves, cervical collars and lumbar belts.
Everything made at the Indore centre is available to Ujjain patients:
Those three pages set out what each involves, so you know what to expect before the journey.
The centre is open every day, so you can plan the trip around what suits you. See the Indore centre page for directions, or the Ratlam page if you are travelling from there instead.
No. Our centre for this region is in Indore, at Shubham Palace near Scheme No 51. Ujjain is a service area, which means patients from Ujjain are seen at the Indore centre. We would rather say that plainly than imply premises we do not have.
Quite a lot. Send photographs and tell us the problem on WhatsApp and we can usually tell you whether a visit is needed, roughly what is involved, and what to bring. That conversation is free and it often saves a wasted trip.
Assessment, casting or scanning, test fitting and final fitting all need you to be there — a socket is made to the shape of your own limb and cannot be fitted by post. Ready-made items such as knee sleeves, collars and lumbar belts do not need a visit.
For a custom prosthesis, several: assessment and casting, a test socket, fitting, then review. For a simpler orthosis it may be two. We will give you a realistic number at the first appointment rather than guess now.
The centre is open every day from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and you are welcome to walk in with a question. If you are travelling from Ujjain, message first so we can make sure the right person is there and your trip is not wasted.
Tell us your situation and we will explain what is involved and what documentation is needed. See our page on the ALIMCO and ADIP scheme.
